Theosophy Foundation of GeorgiaTheosophy Foundation of Georgia is a federally recognized 501c3 tax exempt organization. It operates the Theosophical site "Blavatsky Net" at www.blavatsky.net. The fundamental objective of Theosophy Foundation of Georgia is to preserve, research, and promote original Theosophy as brought to us by Madame Blavatsky and her teachers. Toward that end the web site has set standards of creative ways to disseminate the teachings for ten years, with an online talk list for seven years and a highly original monthly newsletter for three years. It has on the drawing board new plans to advance Theosophy with a new online search engine especially designed for searching Theosophical material and additional options for online talk lists. In the physical world TFG is wanting to start a new effort that complements its online efforts. It wants to start a research center that will provide much needed further detailed research of Theosophical material and supply a protective repository of existing Theosophical material. The written material of Theosophy must be researched with a fine-tooth comb. It must be researched down to the page, the paragraph and even, in some cases, down to the word. We must do this now, as the original backup material is becoming older and older. This all must then be placed online in convenient form accessible to the world and to the future. This task will be done by Reed Carson, the president of TFG, and by an assistant quite familiar with Theosophy. Reed is well equipped for this task, being a scientist by original training, a computer programmer by profession, specialized in databases, and a Theosophist of more than a quarter of a century who has led classes, given talks, and been interviewed for television and on national radio on Theosophy and authored the Blavatsky.net web site. In these days ideas compete more strongly for people's attention. It is clear that we must organize ourselves and our information and present it more vigorously before the public. The times call out to us to do that now. To accomplish these objectives, the following project is proposed. There will be a research center for TFG established in the picturesque mountain town of Blue Ridge Georgia. This center will have a library whose books and other research material will be focused on purposes of studying Madame Blavatsky's work in complete supportive detail. This library will contain: While Reed Carson will perform part of the research and oversee the remainder. We will aim to have a research assistant to perform more of the work. Because the internet has moved into the age of video, the center will produce video for telecasting on the net. Over time we expect various written material also to be produced. This center will be creating necessary computer and paper backup for the various Theosophical materials that the movement has today as well as storing associated archival material - pictures, microfiche. The "safe" mountain town of Blue Ridge where this will occur is uniquely located. It is at 1800 feet elevation and the county it is in is surrounded on four sides by ridges of mountains that rise up to over 4,000 feet. (Edgar Cayce has stated that this area of Georgia will not be sinking beneath the waves when the next natural disaster strikes.) Since it is well into the country it will be safe from various possible disasters in the future that may be more likely visited upon cities. At the same time, this location is with 1.5 hours of the major city of Atlanta. The estimated costs to accomplish this are as follows: $200,000 Research center building. If purchased soon enough, a suitable building can be obtained for less than this amount that has plenty of room for library, archives, and work rooms. $20,000 Research facilities for building. unknown cost for library. Special projects full time recurring salaries We are asking all who are interested to help contribute to the tax deductible Theosophy Foundation of Georgia to accomplish these purposes. Make checks or money orders payable to: Theosophy Foundation of Georgia Please mail donations to: Theosophy Foundation of Georgia The board of directors of Theosophy Foundation of Georgia is composed of Reed Carson, Michael Gomes, and David Grossman.
